“Handle surfing” typically occurs overnight or early morning. Suspects move from car to car, entering unlocked vehicles and stealing items such as cash, electronics, keys, and documents.
Safety tips:
• Lock all doors and close windows, even in driveways
• Remove valuables and spare keys
• Use alarms and home exterior lighting
• Check security cameras for suspicious activity
• Always confirm your vehicle is locked
