🚨 WANTED: CHAIN SNATCHING ROBBERIES
The NYPD is searching for a man wanted in connection with 3 robberies involving necklaces being snatched from women locally.
The most recent robbery occurred Friday, Aug. 14 around 1 PM near 115th Street and Liberty Avenue, within the 106th Precinct. A 75-year-old woman was approached by a man riding a bicycle who demanded her property, snatched her necklace and fled southbound on 115th Street toward 107th Avenue. The victim suffered minor injuries.
Police believe the same suspect is responsible for 2 additional robberies:
Aug. 13: A 71-year-old woman was robbed of a necklace near 105th Avenue and Waltham Street in Jamaica.
Aug. 10: A 23-year-old woman had her necklace snatched in front of 116-02 101st Avenue in South Richmond Hill.
The suspect has used a bicycle to approach victims and quickly flee after taking their jewelry.
⚠️ PLEASE BE ALERT: The NYPD is advising residents, particularly seniors, to avoid displaying expensive necklaces and chains while walking alone. Stay aware of bicycles, scooters or mopeds approaching closely from behind or alongside you.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
