A nor’easter is tracking closer to New York City and is expected to bring rain, strong winds and coastal flooding beginning tomorrow afternoon and continuing through Sunday morning.
NYC Emergency Management has issued a Travel Advisory beginning tomorrow at 2 PM. Current forecasts call for approximately 1 to 1.5 inches of rain, strong winds with gusts potentially reaching 40 mph, and coastal flooding during periods of high tide.
Before conditions begin to worsen tomorrow afternoon, residents should secure outdoor furniture, garbage cans, decorations, planters and anything else that could be blown around by strong winds.
Keep phones and portable batteries charged, clear leaves and debris away from drains and gutters, and avoid parking in areas that regularly flood.
Never drive or walk through flooded streets. Stay away from downed trees, branches and power lines.
