We know how important it is for children to start off their school year feeling confident and ready to learn—and we’re proud that we could help make that happen.
Despite the rain, we had a successful back to school giveaway! 500 kids received backpacks with school supplies and giveaway items, as well as entertainment.
Special thanks to Empire HealthPlus, Assemblywoman Jenifer Rajkumar, and Senator Joe Addabbo for helping make this possible. As well as the New York City Department of Sanitation for bringing a truck for the kids to touch, the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) for bringing school supplies and safety resources, Shivram’s Bakery for providing a delicious lunch for all of the volunteers, and Community Board 9, Queens for supporting and helping us.
